U-Visa & T-Visa Psychological Evaluations
If you were the victim of a serious crime or human trafficking in the U.S. and are cooperating with law enforcement, a psychological evaluation documents the harm you suffered — a key element of U-visa and T-visa petitions.
U-Visa: victims of crime
The U-visa protects victims of qualifying crimes — domestic violence, sexual assault, kidnapping and other serious offenses — who help authorities investigate or prosecute.
The evaluation documents the "substantial physical or mental abuse" the law requires: trauma symptoms, emotional harm and how the crime changed your daily life.
T-Visa: survivors of trafficking
T-visa evaluations address experiences of labor or sex trafficking and other situations of extreme vulnerability.
The report documents the psychological consequences of what you lived through, clearly and objectively, for USCIS review.
How I work with you
A trauma-informed process designed to be safe:
- Interviews in English or Spanish, at your pace
- Standardized trauma and symptom assessments when appropriate
- A court-ready English report, coordinated with your attorney
U-Visa & T-Visa questions
The crime happened years ago. Can it still be evaluated?
Yes. Trauma often persists for years, and the evaluation documents both what happened and how it continues to affect you today.
Do I need a police certification first?
Certification (Form I-918B) is your attorney's domain. The evaluation can be done in parallel — coordinate timing with your attorney.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. The report goes only to you and your attorney. Nothing is shared with law enforcement or anyone else without your consent.
Other evaluation types
After your evaluation, the journey can continue
The same therapist who documents your story can help you heal it. Many clients continue with trauma therapy or EMDR after their evaluation — no need to retell everything to someone new.
